Shopping and Digging

This morning we were up and off in to Norwich first thing on a quest for a new suit for A. He last bought a suit too many years ago to remember clearly so it was definitely time for a new one. We threw ourselves on the mercy of the shop assistant and after a few tryings on A was sorted. We rewarded ourselves with muffins and lattes while we got over the price - good job it was in the sale.

We did a bit more shopping for things like new sandals for M (I know it’s still far too cold but in a few more weeks nowhere will have his size in the ones we want to get) and a few bits for L but we got everything in Primark so it was cheap. We went to Argos to buy some CD/DVD storage for M’s bedroom and then headed back for the park and ride bus.

Gluttons for punishment, we then went to B&Q with a diversion into McDonalds for lunch. We figured if we were driving all the way to Norwich we may as well do as much shopping in one go as we could manage. So in B&Q we got some shelving and lots of compost/growbags.

We got back home mid afternoon and the sun was shining so we decided it would be a good time to dig our veggie patch. We don’t have any borders in the back garden that get much sun, so we dug up a section of lawn (well, scrubby grass) at the far end where the sun does touch. The lawn is very infested with chafer grubs - we found loads and squished them. A worked really hard digging and turning and breaking up the turf. M helped break up some of the lumps, squah grubs and pick out stones. I kept L entertained. He wouldn’t move off the cardboard we put on the lawn for him to sit on - don’t think he likes the feel of the grass.
