Seeing stars

Oh, meant to mention this too - guess what L was up to while I was engrossed in playing Age of Empires with M this morning!

He thinks it’s great to put his hand down into one of our big craft drawers and see what he can pull out. S’pose I’d better go get him dressed now.

Yesterday was mixed. M came down dressed as some kind of warrior and came out with me to the local shop carrying his wooden gun. So we got a few odd looks! He got on with his activities OK in the morning, and more or less finished off his Wild West project. I need to help him put his little books and pictures into a lapbook now because we’ve not really done many before and it’s probably quite hard for him to see how he could display it. He made a gorgeous background for a prairie poem using watercolours and water colour pencils.

L was into everything as usual but didn’t really settle down for a decent nap. He fell asleep on me but as soon as I laid him down he woke up. I know he could just sleep on me but he’s heavy, cuts off the circulation in my arms and it’s hard to type or do anything else at the same time as holding him.

We went out to Tesco in the afternoon and otherwise we played Age of Empires, I tried to get some washing dried but it was rather cold for line drying and we all got fed up of each other. Oh yes, and I tried phoning BT to arrange for call sign on our line and got one of those barely-speaks-English call centre people who hadn’t heard of it so put me on hold for ages and then said it would begin in 2 days but I can expect a letter telling me the new phone number in 7 days - ??? I’ll be phoning back tomorrow to get the number if it doesn’t come in the post by then.

In the late afternoon L finally crashed for an hour and I got the sewing machine out and started my carrier. This morning I got up when A did about 6.30am and did some more sewing for an hour while L was still asleep. I’ve got my bottom straps sewn onto the central body piece and have pleated the top straps but I think they are too wide so I need to make modifications. At least I’ve started now.

A came home from work late because he’s in charge of locking up this week. He’s also got his timetable for some meetings in the next few weeks so he’ll be away overnight next week and then away just about the whole of the following week going up and down to Scotland twice.

Today we’re waiting in for a workman who is supposed to be cleaning out our gutters. I think we might do some baking this morning but at the moment M is rewatching The Cat Returns. If it’s not raining before I get round to it I might prune the bush at the front of the house or it’s going to obstruct the window.
