Gorgeous Gardening Day

Yesterday the weather was lovely, sunny and warm, and we spent most of the day doing things in the garden. We got the veggie patch organised to try some square foot gardening (kind of making it up based on a couple of websites I’ve looked at).

At lunchtime we had a break and visited a garden centre where we had lunch and then spent more money than we’d been planning to on plants, seeds, polythene and a planter. Then it was back home to sort out our purchases.

Most importantly, we bought a cherry tree as a special family tree to plant on top of L’s placenta, which had been sitting in our freezer (and temporarily my mum’s freezer while we moved) for the past 9 months.

I’m ressurecting my gardening blog so will eventually post more fully about it all there.

Fish and Beans

Filed under: Home Ed, Days Out

Saturday was busy. In the morning we went out looking for another shop selling fish tank bits. The first one we visited only did pond stuff and cold water aquarium bits but the pet shop we ended up at had well stocked and cared for tropical tanks. We bought some more plants for our tank and some tetras and mollies. Then it was home for a quick lunch.

In the afternoon we went to the Beans’ officially home edding party. It was good to catch up with all the folk we haven’t seen in ages and to generally chat. I enjoyed the house tour too and the food was great. M I noticed was running round with Fran for a while and then catching up with the Clarke girls. I’ve been hearing jokes that Anna told him all weekend!
