It's OK--not a huge fan of the storyline. But the kids like it. We also found an excellent native-speaking German instructor for the bargain price of $5US per hour per lesson--and moms are free! The UK Steiner Fellowship also has some great materials for teaching German at home. I’ve not tried Rosetta Stone, but we have check Muzzy out of the local library. It seems simplistic when you first try it, but it really does work - and it's suitable for all ages. I *think* the National Trust book-in-advance rule only applies if you want to take a large group or you want a guided tour.
